Rugby: Rugby originated from a form of football in the 19th century.The game was made in England.The ball is oval-shaped and the pitch is up to 100 metres long and 70 metres wide.

When rugby started it was an incident during an english schools rugby game when William Webb-Ellis is said to have picked up a football and ran with it to the opposition goal.The rugby world cup trophy is named after him.Rugby Union has been around since 1886 and has 115 countries in it.In 1995 the IRB got rid of the restrictions to pay players making rugby professional for the first time.

Rugby Tournaments
Like football the Rugby World Cup takes place every four years.In europe every year there is a competition called the six nations.The countries in this are England Ireland Scotland Wales Italy and France.There is also the tri-nations which have New Zealand,Australia,South Africa.

In rugby the scoring is like so: Five points for a try and two for a conversion.Drop goals and penalties are worth 3 points.At the start on the game there is a coin toss to see who kicks off first and the team who kicks off first kicks to the other team.
